A film series at the BABYLON cinema in Berlin — every first Friday of the month, at midnight, on ghosts, spirits and magic. The depiction of the magical and the supernatural is as old as cinema itself: from Loïe Fuller's serpentine dances of 1892 through the Bauhaus experiments, multiple projection and trick photography, film history teems with ghosts that appear as metaphors of thought. La Loge Noire summons the materiality of cinema as a spectral presence — every screening paired with a live performance before the film.
